Going barf-less!

Yippy...Zippy...Zinger...Dinger!

For the third time in a row, I went for a ride and didn't barf! Miss Barb was so happy that I didn't make a mess in her car. She said that as I got older, I would outgrow being car-sick and I think she is right.

Yeah! I'm a big girl now. See how much I've grown. This is my second collar and it's already fastened in the last hole! Golly, it won't be long before I'll need a new one. I think I'd like one a different color next time... just because I'm not a little bitty baby girl anymore... and pink is for babies!

There's a lot of hussl'n and bussl'n going on around here! Everyone says they are getting ready for winter to come. Now, I haven't been around long enough to know who winter is, but I get the idea that she's something awful! I get the feeling that no one trusts her either, because Mister Earl is hiding all the lawn and deck chairs in the brown shed!

I heard that all the trees and grass will get covered in white. Yep... I'm thinking that I'm not going to like winter when she gets here! I wonder what my friend Hunter thinks about this dreadful visitor that will be here soon?

I live at the end of this lane and it sure looks pretty now...
But, who knows, maybe it will even look pretty all decked out in winter white!

...but for now, I just love playing in the colored leaves!

Weekend Visitors

What a wonderful Labor Day weekend I had! Hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

Sometimes there was a lot of confusion though, because everyone wanted to hold Mister Earl's new Great Granddaughter... and everyone wanted to talk at the same time... and there was a lot of stuff happening in the kitchen... and I wasn't allowed to jump on anyone. Bummer.

Lily smelled so sweet that I just wanted to give her a big slobbery Boxer smooch-a-roonie. She's such a little doll!

So I had no choice. I either had to make friends with this little fur-ball or spend the afternoon pouting in a corner by myself. However, our friendship was short-lived when I tried holding Blackie down with one of my big paws. Evidently, I wasn't suppose to do that either. Bummer.

My next choice was to make friends with Tilly, who is older and stronger than me. We sniffed and chased each other and even wrestled some, which got us thrown outside to do our woof-housing. Guess we shouldn't have done that either. Bummer.

Some things might not have gone as well as they should have, but one thing is for certain... I'm going to save one of my Boxer smoochies for sweet little Lily!

Evening Walk

Almost every evening after we have dinner, I get to go for a long walk with my best friend, Hunter. He's a big, lovable Doberman and we romp and play all along the way.

He has a big mouth with reeeeeally big teeth, but he's very gentle. He's four years old, but sometimes he acts like such a big baby! Maybe I'll have a picture of him some time soon so you can see just how big he is!

Mister Earl and Miss Barb took me for a walk last evening and I was disappointed that Hunter couldn't go. But I made double-dog sure that I didn't let the two of them get out of my sight because I didn't want them to get lost, you know. I wanted to run, but they just puttered along like two old fogies. I'll be glad when Hunter can go again!

I always came back when they called my name. After all, I didn't want them to be scared!

It was getting late by the time we got back to the house and the sky was turning such a pretty shade of pink. Before we went inside, Miss Barb and I walked across the yard to the flower garden where Dixie is buried. The little Guardian Angel holds a lantern to show us the way.

I can tell that Miss Barb still misses Dixie very much, so that's why I try to be extra good, so she won't be sad. But sometimes I forget and then I get into trouble... like when I chew the branches on Miss Barb's Lilac bush or dig holes in the yard! It's not a good idea to snack on her best ink pen either!

Good Night Dixie. Love and kisses from
...and from Hunter, your old buddy, too!

Big Bird

I wanna tell you, I had a hair-raising experience today!

There I was... taking a little snooze in the cool grass under the shady Maple tree in the front lawn... minding my own business... when this noisy, ugly bird swooped in from who-knows-where and scared the living beejeebees out of my poor boxer biscuits! Yep... ugly... ugly... ugggggly!

It was even carrying it's lunch bag on a long rope and I wasn't going to stick around to see if I was going to be a part of the menu, so I high-tailed it for the deck and hid under the swing.

Good Golly, Miss Molly... that sure was a close call! I don't think I'll ever be the same again!

I can't believe Miss Barb was so calm about it all. She took pictures and said that the bird's name was Helicopter and the bag was filled with seismic testing equipment which Helicopter was dropping in areas that couldn't be reached by vehicles. The seismic testing shows where natural gas is under the earth.

Guess Helicopter is a really smart and popular bird... but he's still ugly in my simple puppy mind. I hope he doesn't come back so I don't have to hide under the swing again.
